Well into her 90s, in fact until this very year, Beatrice Gottlieb offered original and incisive comments to the multi-disciplinary papers delivered in our Columbia University Seminar in the Renaissance. We greatly valued her presence among us, and the quality of her mind. We also valued her stands on various cultural and political phenomena. And she was our friend. We will miss her greatly. Please inform us of the Date of the Memorial. Thank you.

I first met Bea in 2012 as part of the Columbia University Seminar in the Renaissance. This group explores our shared interest in the period. She was a model of successful, optimistic aging. In the last few years, when she felt uncertain about navigating the city alone, another colleague and I would accompany her to the Seminar's meetings. Time to share impressiions and get to know Bea better. She will be greatly missed.
