Trinidad M. Eckstein better known as Manang Trini was born and raised in Oton, Iloilo, Philippines. She completed her studies in medical technology from Central Philippine University. After a few years in the healthcare business in the Philippines, she moved to the United States.

She was an exchange student in San Antonio, Texas, and afterward served in the healthcare industry in Washington, DC. She moved to New York City and worked in medical technology at Mother Cabrini Memorial Hospital and at the Montefiore Medical Center. She retired as Lab Supervisor of the Medical Technology Laboratory in Riker's Island, New York.

Manang Trini served as founding President of the Central University of the Philippines Alumni Association, USA. She was also a member of the Society of Philippine American Artists and has exhibited with the organization several times in New York and New Jersey. She has also been involved with Filipino American community activities in New York, including the Philippine Independence Day Committee and the Philippine Centennial Celebration with the Consulate General of the Philippines.

Manang Trini is survived by her nieces and nephew, Marilyn Abalos, Madeleine Abalos Gallagher, Philip Abalos, Sonia Po, Anita Po, Ruben Bing Ronquillo, and their spouses and children as well as grandnieces Eirene Barlizo Celis, Hope Barlizo Arnaldo, Emilee Barlizo Diaz, and Elaine Barlizo Arcenas and their spouses and children.
